Greetings to All,
I am extremely enthusiastic about serving as the High School Principal at Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco ISD for the upcoming 2018-19 school year. Being a part of the Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco community that is so rich in pride and tradition has been very exciting for me over this past year. I admire the many accomplishments that we had over this past year and look forward to building upon those accomplishments. The "Celebration of All Successes" and the "Students Come First" environment that has been created by our dedicated community is inspiring. I look forward to leading this team that is dedicated to the success of all our students.
I believe it takes a village to raise a child, and we as a community are all on this journey together. My staff and I are looking forward to developing productive partnerships with you to ensure our students will perform at their highest levels possible.
In order to be successful and show academic growth in school, our students need a joint support system from home and school. Your assistance and support in your child’s learning truly makes a difference. Below are some ways that you can help your child:
1) Arrive to school on time. The school doors open at 7:20 am and students are to report to the cafeteria upon arrival. The first bell to enter class is at 7:45 am. The tardy bell and class instruction begins at 7:50 a.m. By eating breakfast either at home or school, a student’s learning increases by 10 percent. The school provides breakfast to the students between 1st and 3rd period depending on the student’s schedule.
2) Attend school daily. To ensure that your child performs at their highest level possible, they must be in school on a daily basis. To receive credits for each of their class periods and avoid truancy consequences, a student must be in attendance in that course at least 90% of the time.
3) Follow school rules. School rules are in place to maximize the safety and instructional delivery time that students receive. Following the school rules minimizes safety concerns and classroom distractions.
4) Be involved in their own educational planning. Our educational team is here to help each student move forward toward achieving the best high school graduation plan that leads them into their desired postsecondary plan whether it be trade school, an associate degree and/or 4-year degree at a University.
If you have any questions about your child’s education, please feel free to contact your child's teachers, counselor, or me to discuss any issue pertaining to your child's educational success. We thank you for your continued support and look forward to a fantastic school year.
